Starting Over

I’ve been a little quiet updating my blog and updating you on my writing progress. There's a reason for that. Honestly, there has just been a lot going on. I’ve also been struggling about how I wanted to share what’s going on.

In the last couple months I have let my publishing contract lapse. Reason being was that I was embarrassed. I went into publishing knowing nothing, and that showed a lot. I published a book, while it was okay, it wasn’t actually ready. (And thank you to all who have supported me

and bought a book and gave me amazing ratings.)

I was excited by an opportunity, so I jumped in completely blind. I partnered with a vanity publisher with no idea how to self market myself. So while I mostly got good reviews, for the few that I got, I was embarrassed that I settled with a brand new publishing company that didn’t care about me but about my money and to add another book to their shelf. I’ve been left feeling taken advantage of, and not knowing how to move forward again.

So I’ve decided to start over. Not to compare myself, but through this resolve, it’s been encouraging to take my name back in the same Era that Taylor Swift has taken back hers. If someone as big as her can change her image, little nobody me can rebrand and come back trail blazing. (That’s my hope anyways.) Currently, I’ve redone my Instagram. . I have a plan and a couple manuscripts that are in the works. Someday I hope I’ll be able to look at The Sea Nymph and give it a new look and story, maybe even write a sequel. (I have plenty of ideas.) I’m sure you can still find the original somewhere but it’s not an active publication anymore.

Sorry that this post is short and sweet, but I hope you will be patient with me and even join me on this journey to try again.
