About
Writing Journey
I've dabbled in writing for a while. Ever since I was young I have kept diaries and have several composition notebooks filled with stories. But every story remained unfinished. Eventually, I decided that writing probably wasn't written in the stars for me if I wasn't able to commit.Â
Later, I went to college not entirely sure of what I wanted to do but convinced that writing was not the path destined for me. However, in my senior year, six months before I was to graduate, I still had no real grasp on what I wanted to do with my life. In my classes, I started putting pen to paper and a story unfolded. Screw the college degree that I had been pursuing. I wanted and knew I had to write.  Writing a book takes passion and a dose of whimsicalness to see it through to the end, not to mention the commitment and discipline it takes to actually sit down and write.Â
What does writing feel like? You might ask. Writing is like slitting your wrists and showing the world what you did. Writing is revealing and exploratory by nature. I hope that as I continue to read and write, that I can learn more and show more about myself; and to help bring people together through books.
I live in Cincinnati, Ohio where I am supported endlessly by my wonderful husband, Tyler, our son, and our crazy dogs, Calypso and Mando as I continue to pursue my writing career.

No one likes to be alone, but sometimes we have little choice in the matter. Through adventure or through tragedy, we find out who we are and what we are capable of. But sometimes, it is also okay to be broken.
Nerissa, homeless and alone, is trying to understand why the odds have been stacked up against her. All she wants to do is get away from the place where she grew up. However, nearly as soon as she leaves, she is captured by pirates. As she slaves away on Captain Argo's ship, she finds out a lot about herself, but more importantly, she discovers how her captors have impacted her past.

Never take a writer for granted.

They are snipers
armed with words.
They know
how to aim
with sentences,
how to fire
with paragraphs,
and
how to immortalise their kills
in verse.
